The annual solidarity mission to Israel is a unique program that operates within the framework of the Montreal / Beer Sheva / Bnei Shimon Partnership. A group of volunteers arrived in Be'er Sheva in February 2018 to conduct a Bar Mitzvah ceremony for children from disadvantaged families who could not afford to perform this mitzvah. The event took place at the Western Wall in Jerusalem and included joint celebrations in the square and event hall. In addition to these festivities, the volunteers stayed in Be'er Sheva for three days, during which they volunteered in various places throughout the city and heard about the Partnership's diverse activities.
