Empowerment of Young Scientists in the Arava (EYSA)

The Central Arava branch of the Dead Sea-Arava Science Center (= the Central Arava Science Center) is currently home to 4 researchers (with PhDs), 5 graduate students (PhD and M.Sc. students) and 4 technicians, all of which work and live in the region. Surrounded by unique ecosystems, researchers in the central Arava science center conduct and initiate scientific activity that is relevant to this region, such as studies in the fields of ecology, geology, and environment, alongside advanced studies in the field of biotechnology. The center aims to improve scientific literacy in the local adult and youth populations, be a center for cross-border scientific cooperation with Jordan and support the economic activity in the region. Additionally, the science center aspires to enhance the growth of the local scientific community in the region by attracting researchers from outside the area in addition to providing scientific working environments for local people with academic backgrounds and aspirations.
