Shinshinim Tucson: The Young Emissary Program

The Young Emissary Program participants are high school graduates from Kiryat Malachi and Hof Ashkelon who have deferred their army duty to do a year of national volunteer service by working in Tucson as young ambassadors of Israel (shlichim). They provide a variety of Israeli programming for the purpose of educating the people in our communities about Israel and bringing our communities together in support of Israel. They spend most of their time in our Jewish day school, synagogue religious schools, youth groups, Jewish Community Center, elderly homes, and with other local community organizations. Usually, there are two emissaries and they are housed with local host families.
