School Twinning Program

The Partnership’s School Twinning Program brings together principals, teachers, children and youth from Israel (Kiryat Malachi and Hof Ashkelon) and their counterparts from the United States (Tucson, Phoenix and Seattle). As part of the program we maintain a wide range of projects and activities designed to create a human bridge that spans boundaries and forms a web of meaningful connections and relationships through the experience of joint study. This year we have significantly extended the activity and we are proud to add new partners to the program. We now have 4 kindergartens, 4 5th grade classes, 4 6th grade classes and 6 8th grade classes. The teachers involved in the program maintain educational dialogue whereby they devise a joint experiential program together which includes enabling the students to get to know each other, trips and virtual sessions, marking special events and religious holidays in the shared Hebrew calendar, work and artistic work exchanges between the students, studying in pairs etc. The program generates fundamental change in the students’ connection and bond with Israel in communities in the United States and Israel. It generates meaningful change in the way we educate, and the way in which the students perceive their role and their responsibility as part of the Jewish people.
