SPACES- Jewish Peoplehood in a virtual world

SPACES is a joint initiative of the Israeli Ministry of Education, Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Jewish Agency, and the Center for Educational Technology (CET). The course is destined to bring together students and schools from Israel and from Jewish communities throughout the world. Two high schools from Toronto- RHA and Bialik- and two from Eilat-Eilot- Rabin and Ma'ale Shahrut- are taking part in the pilot, together with a school from Bucharest Romania and Holon. The course's pilot is performed by six meetings of one and a half hours- each is dealing with contents about the Jewish world of today: - Jewish Life cycle- Personal, family, community, and Jewish identity. - Our lives- here and there - Historical memory- shared or different - Symbols of the Jewish people Four meetings are held in each school separately, one is held between the schools in Eilat and Toronto (in pairs) and the second joint meeting will be attended by all the students from the six participating schools. Daniel Konievsky, who participated in the program shares: "my experience was awesome. I had a great time and learned a lot about my class mates, close friends and even my community. I made new friends and met nice people".
