David Brown Member of the Board of Governors

David Brown, Chicago, IL is an accomplished attorney who counsels public companies and closely held businesses on complex matters, including strategic planning, talent development, acquisitions and dispositions, private placements of debt and equity and tax and entity structures.  David also serves as chairman of Much Shelist and is actively involved in strategic planning and leadership development for the firm. Prior to his appointment to chairman of Much Shelist, David served as chair of the firm’s management committee for thirteen years. He is an active board member of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF) and is immediate past chairman of its board of directors. David has also held multiple positions within the JUF - chair of the Overall Planning and Allocations Committee (OPAC), End of the Year chair for the 2004 and 2008 campaigns, chair of the Government Affairs Committee, and president of the Young Leadership Division. David was a recipient of the JUF’s Young Leadership Award. David is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and serves on its Executive Committee. He also served as chair of JFNA's Human Services and Public Policy Council where he worked closely with professional leadership in JFNA's Washington, D.C. office and lay leadership throughout the United States on health and long-term care issues, care of the aged, disability and tax policies. David currently chairs the Global Operations: Israel and Overseas Council for JFNA where he works with and engages the Federation system on critical overseas issues, particularly in Israel. David also was recently elected to the International BBYO Board and is an active Chicago leader with AIPAC.  David and his wife, Suzanne Muchin, live in Chicago with their five children.
