Donald S. Davis has been involved in all aspects of Jewish Education in the City of Montreal for the past four decades. As a student, he was instrumental in having Jewish Education placed on the Community agenda. He has served on the Education Committees of the Canadian Jewish Congress and the Allied Jewish Community Services. He was the Canadian Chairman of the International committee for the release of Anatoly Sharansky.

He served as President of the Hebrew Academy, from 1986 to 1990. From 1996 to 1999 he served as President of the Association of Jewish Day Schools. From 1999 to 2002 he served as President of the President’s Council of all Agencies of Federation CJA. From 1996 to present he is a member of the Executive of Federation CJA. He currently serves as Secretary and Vice Chairman of Community Planning and Allocations.

Donald is a graduate of Yeshiva College of Yeshiva University in New York. He is currently an Officer of Canadian Friends of Yeshiva University and the Canadian Alumni Chairman. In 1995 Donald was awarded the Dr. Bernard Revel Award for Community Service by the Yeshiva College Alumni Association. In 2002 Donald was the recipient of the Federation CJA Distinguished Leadership Award. He recently received the “Rabbanit Sarah Hertzog” Award for service to the local, national and International community from Emunah.

Donald is a practicing attorney. He studied at Yeshivat Mercaz Harav Kook in Jerusalem during the 1965-1966. In 1967 he volunteered f with the I.D.F.

Donald Davis is a Committee Member since October 2006.
