Heschel Raskas Member of the Board of Governors

Heschel J. Raskas, Ph.D. is treasurer of the Board of Trustees of The Jewish Federations of North America. In 2008, Dr. Raskas was Budget and Finance Subcommittee chair for the Israel Department of the Jewish Agency for Israel. He has held several positions at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, including president and treasurer. He has served as secretary of the Jewish Community Relations Council and of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce of St. Louis. He was president of Young Israel Congregation and Block Yeshiva High School. Currently, he chairs the Venture Mentor Service at Innovate St. Louis and Strategic Planning Committee, is on the advisory boards of several privately-held companies. He is involved in a startup project with the Jewish Community Relations Council to build a bio-tech relationship between Israel and Missouri. Dr. Raskas is a graduate of M.I.T with a B.S. degree in life sciences and received his Ph. D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard University.
