Karen is a business woman and a volunteer leader in the Jewish Community in Vancouver. She is a former world class athlete with a diverse background in real estate, education, leadership, public speaking and athletics. As a member of Canada’s Olympic Team at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, Karen was a witness to some of the tragedy that unfolded as 11 Israelis were held hostage and later murdered by a faction of the PLO, the Black September terrorist group. She travels to Jewish communities all over North America telling her story of what she witnessed and how it has affected her life.

Karen chairs the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, is a former chair and board member of Jewish Family Services, is an Advisory board member the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee and is just finishing her term on JFNA’s National Women’s Philanthropy. She is a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient.

Karen has served as a committee member since June 2015. On June 2018 she was appointed member of the Board.
