Resolution: Election of the Chairman of the Executive

Whereas the Chairman of the Jewish Agency Executive, Mr. Natan Sharansky, will complete his term of office no later than July 20, 2018; and

Whereas the Leadership Nominating Committee decided on June 21, 2018 upon the election of Mr. Isaac Herzog as Chairman of the Executive of the Jewish Agency following the end of the term of office of Mr. Sharansky in this capacity, and it is submitting the election for approval by the Board of Governors;

Therefore, it is hereby resolved:

1. On the basis of the decision and recommendation of the Leadership Nominating Committee, the Board of Governors elects Mr. Isaac Herzog as Chairman of the Executive of the Jewish Agency for a period of four years.

2. The term of office of Mr. Herzog shall come into effect no later than August 1, 2018, in order to enable him to arrange the completion of his position and his work as a member of the Knesset.

3. Until the term of office of Mr. Herzog as the Chairman of the Executive of the Jewish Agency comes into force (the "Interim Period"), the Executive shall act in accordance with its residual authority according to the Jewish Agency By-Laws, as a collective body with collective responsibility, as stipulated in the Agreement for the Reconstitution of the Jewish Agency.

4. Decisions on essential issues during the interim period will be made in consultation with Mr. Herzog.
