With the Forum of Community Representatives, met with Hillel Newman, Policy Advisor in the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs who is willing to help bring speakers and programs to visiting delegations from Diaspora communities. He will be a help to us in the planning of the Community Opinion Leaders Israel visit.

Also met with representative of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs to learn more about their initiatives on US campuses and short term shaliach visits for smaller communities.

The Israeli planning team for the Community Opinion Leaders (non- Jews) visit met for the first time under the coordination of Heidi. The trip will take place from Feb. 17-23, 2020. A fact sheet will be available at the Communities Council so that communities can begin recruiting local participants. 

Preparation for the Communities Council- planning for sessions, dinner and dancing at the Mascot Hall of Fame, group brainstorming and more...

Working with Chairs Efrat and Michelle as the do their CC preparation to bring the Highlights from 2018 together with new directions for the 2019-2020 year.

Conversations with a number of the Consortium execs who due to Jewish world conflicts will not be able to join the Communities Council. Discussions about more Partnership programs that have an easy entry, more engagement opportunities around designated gifts, possibility of 2020 Summit in Budapest, etc.

Interesting meeting with Liran, one of the Israeli participants of Bikes and Bourbon, who has many creative ideas of how to create more virtual (and real!) communities in the Partnership around special interests.

Preparations for post-CC visit of two doctors: Dr. Sami Tobias (GMC) and Dr. Assaf Shemesh (Budapest) who will speak and meet in Omaha and Des Moines.
