Summit: July 14-16, 2019 in South Bend, IN

Had the pleasure of hosting the Altman family (Louisville) who had hosted all the Israelis (and everyone else) during the Bike and Bourbon. They had a chance to interact with all the bikers, Partnership leadership, visit with other Galileans that they had hosted in the past and saw the sunset at Rosh Hanikra. Great time!

In a new initiative this year, Buffalo gave donors the opportunity to give donations over and above their campaign gift to organizations in the WESTERN GALILEE based on the issues of Youth at Risk, Peace Building and Social Justice. They succeeded in raising over $50,000. Currently, local organizations have the opportunity to apply for the funds through an RFP process. Kol hakavod to Buffalo for expanding Partnership impact in the region.

This week we had all the Partnership staff in one place as we had the great opportunity to have Hedi (Budapest) in the Western Galilee during the week. Great opportunity for her and many in the WG to interact and plan for the future.

The Partnership has currently 22 school twinning pairs. If you have a class/group/school that is interested in connecting, please contact Carmit.  CarmitG@jafi.org

Next week, 18 9th graders  and 2 teachers from the Lauder school in Budapest will be coming to the Western Galilee for a week to be hosted by Sulam Zur high school students of Matte Asher. They will share the light of Chanukah!

Who knows about Mamanet?? Check it out- http://mamanet.org.il/viewArticle_en.asp?id=192#topb The idea is to create/connect teams in the Consortium communities, Budapest and the Western Galilee. Do you have a team already? Want to hear more? This is an initiative of the Young Adults, contact Gil Gilk@jafi.org

Planning for the Communities Council is in full swing. Chairs, Efrat and Michelle are extending great efforts to insure maximum participation and a meaningful experience for all. This is the opportunity for every community to weigh in on the thinking and planning for the coming year and beyond. Eight communities have already registered!

Latest update from the TPC - we have an elevator! Join us as the Partnership goes to the next level. Donate through your local federation.

Happy Chanukah to all - May the Festival of Lights bring light into your lives and may we celebrate together!

Shabbat Shalom!

Bracha
