Jewish-Arab theater group

The Jewish-Muslim theater group of Neve Hanna consists of changing casts of children (about 20 actors and 15 children as musicians, as in charge of costumes, make-up, props). The Jewish children reside at Neve Hanna or attend one of our daycare centers. The Arab children are of Muslim-Bedouin background from the city of Rahat attending Neve Hanna´s “Path to Peace” daycare center. They have weekly individual session and group rehearsals serving on one hand therapeutic aims set for each individual. On the other hand these activities help them to explore hidden talents, experience success and to excel not only within the field of drama. This is the case to only for the actors, but for all children participating. The group dynamic strengthens their individual as well as their ethnic-religious-cultural group identity and in addition, opens channels of communication between groups of the Israeli society often leading lives in parallel spheres with few points at which they intertwine
