Senior corps of expert volunteers

Senior citizens in Israel encounter many difficulties and barriers in accessing their rights. In order to meet these needs and to deal with the challenges that lie ahead, we developed the "Senior Corps of Expert Volunteers" project. This project recruits senior citizens as volunteers who assist the elderly living in the city and surrounding areas to access their rights. Thanks to your generous donation, we established a branch of YEDID at the Beit Wax Day Center for the Elderly. The office hours are one day a week, an additional day for dealing with requests for help, and letters are written at Yedid's Citizens' Rights Center in the Kiryat Gat Municipal Library. In addition, twice a year, we will hold "Health Days" through YEDID's mobile health center: a nurse from the center will carry out sugar and cholesterol testing for patients, and there will also be lectures on health and rights issues, and BMI (body mass index) testing.
