Community to Community Program: Ann Arbor and Nahalal

In September 2007 it was decided to launch a community to community project between Ann Arbor and Nahalal based on the desire to strengthen the relationship between people of both communities and in order to supply a response to needs in both communities: in Ann Arbor the need to strengthen Jewish identity and the connection with Israel and in Nahalal the need to strengthen the relationship with Jews in the Diaspora. The idea of the project is to create a tangible and experiential connection rather than merely an ideological conceptual one. The project includes visits to Nahalal of families and teens from Ann Arbor, learning and shared experiences revolving around Jewish and Israeli holidays and festivals, hosting Ann Arbor teens in Nahalal for periods of one month or longer, teen and adult reciprocal missions.
