JCC Day Camp Netanya Counselors

2 counselors from Netanya will be part of the Camp at the JCC counselor’s staff. The counselors will be post IDF service, preferably a girl and a boy screened and trained by JAFI's summer camp unit. Before arrival, the counselors will receive screening, support, and training by the Netanya P2P Coordinator A detailed Israel programing to be developed before and after arrival with consultant of P2P Coordinator in Cincinnati and Netanya, and implemented during camp. Counselors will also participate in education in Cincinnati on Jewish life in the Diaspora and engage in opportunities to explore Jewish pluralism. Dates: June August 2017 Goals To increase Israel engagement in the JCC day camp To create friendships between Israeli and Cincinnati counselors and Host Families To promote understanding of life as a Jew in the Diaspora including: living as a minority;exposure to various Jewish community agencies and the Federation system for a better understanding of what is needed for vibrant Jewish life;exposure to Jewish pluralism;and connections with American peers
