October 30, 2009 / 12 Cheshvan 5770 Come celebrate the 20th anniversary of November 8th – 10th 2009 What is "Do the Write Thing"? Do the Write Thing is a unique conference that focuses on the interests and needs of Jewish journalism students and professional journalists and writers from Israel and North America. The workshops address issues of objectivity in the media, values in a changing world, the dynamics of power between the media and the Jewish and Israeli establishment, globalization and building journalism skills. This year's Do the Write Thing topics will cover Israel's response to terrorism, the influence of the media in foreign policy-making, Israel's domestic politics and foreign relations, perspectives on peace, media bias, the relevance of Zionism for young Jewish adults today and coverage of Israel on campus. The seminar will take place along side the annual General Assembly, creating a rare opportunity to meet with the decision makers and leaders of world Jewry. Do the Write Thing participants have the opportunity to interact with influential Jewish figures in the media world today, plus prominent members of the Israeli and North American Jewish leadership.
