Prime Minister Netanyahu, Knesset Speaker Edelstein to Address Jewish Agency Board of Governors; Hundreds of Jewish leaders from around the world to gather for next week’s summer board meetings, which will celebrate fifty years since Jerusalem’s reunification

The following is a list of notable events during the course of the board meetings, which will take place at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem. 

Sunday, June 26

8:45 am           Opening plenary featuring an address by Chairman of the Executive Natan Sharansky, as well as a panel discussion with MK Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid), MK Mickey Levy (Yesh Atid), MK Yifat Shasha-Bitton (Kulanu), MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home).

7:45 pm           Jewish Agency mega event celebrating fifty years since Jerusalem’s reunification at Sultan’s Pool, attended by hundreds of Jewish leaders, new immigrants, and young people from around the world who are participating in Jewish Agency programs, and featuring some of Israel’s leading performers.

Monday, June 26

9:30 am           Panel discussion: “Fifty Years Since Jerusalem’s Reunification: Challenges and Opportunities,” featuring Ruth Diskin of the Jerusalem Foundation, Tehila Friedman of Shaharit, and Tzippy Yarom of Mishpacha Magazine, and moderated by Lior Schillat, Director General of the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Research.

10:45 am         “Jerusalem Up Close”: Site visits throughout Jerusalem according to specialized tracks, including a look at the city’s hi tech scene, civil society, and Haredi community, as well as at the eastern part of the city. The tours have been organized in partnership with the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Research.

7:00 pm           Gala event at the Knesset featuring addresses by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Speaker of the Knesset Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein, outgoing Chairman of the Board of Governors Charles Ratner, and Chairman of the Executive Natan Sharansky. 

Tuesday, June 27

10:45 am         Meeting of the Unity of the Jewish People Committee, attended by Minister of Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi.

2:45 pm           Closing plenary featuring the induction of the new Chairman of the Board of Governors, Michael Siegal.
