Northern Galil youth age 15 16 (Year 9) attend summer camps of British youth movements in groups of 2 to 4 hanichim with an accompanying madrich/a as the first stage in the ongoing Living Bridge connection between the British youth movements and the Northern Galil Partnership region. The Israelis are hosted by the British youth in their homes prior to or following the camps to become acquainted with the Jewish community in the UK. They are integrated into the summer camps, contributing their Israeli spirit and presence throughout the camp experience and making Israel become a reality for the British youth. Participation in camp is preceded by a period of thorough preparation of the youth, which deals with Jewish and Israeli identity, an understanding of the youth movement they will be joining, bonding of the group, and preparation of activities for the British hanichim at camp. The project includes delegations to summer camps of youth movements with on going relationships with Living Bridge programs: FZY, BBYO, Netzer LJY/RSY.
