Children up to a certain age are required to have age specific car seats or boosters
Israeli law requires that all passengers in a car use a seat belt. In addition the following rules apply for children:
Babies aged up to 1 year must be seated in an appropriate seat facing opposite to the direction of travel.
Children aged 1 - 3 must be seated in an appropriate car seat facing in the direction of travel.
Children aged 3 - 8 must be seated in a booster seat.
Children aged 8 and up should be strapped in, using the car's regular seat belt.
Children should never be seated in a child seat or booster opposite an active air bag.
