Shavuot and the Treatment of Strangers

Synopsis:
In this online Mifgash the twin students will deal with the Shavuot holiday as a celebration of the giving of the law. Students in the twinned classrooms will examine the social aspect of Shavuot and its relevance to modern times through an online discussion (Moodle, social network, Forum etc.) of the refugees and border infiltrators issue in Israel. This lesson plan is part of a series of five modular units that invite students of the twinned schools to share content on a variety of values connected with the holiday. It may be used in conjunction with the other units (that appear below) or can serve as a stand-alone unit.
