* The Stoke Mandeville Games.
* The Paralympics.
• They should bring the information that they have found on the three things to the group and with your help, should make sense of it.

• What does the group think of the idea of such sporting activity? Presumably rehabilitation through sport is a good idea if it works for the handicapped - but has it any national significance?
Does the fact that the Paralympics in particular are built to echo the “real” Olympic games have any significance?
How important do they think it should be to a country to do well in such games?

• Now examine Israel’s record in these games using the material in section 8G above.
Why do they think that Israel did so well in the Paralympics, right from their first appearance in 1960?
What does that say about the country?
Should Israel be proud of its record in the Paralympics? Why? Why not?
How do they feel about the fact that Israel built up such an impressive record in this field?
