Our vision is to strengthen periphery settlements communities by means of developing local leadership that will take upon itself the responsibility of generating change and leadership via manning leadership positions at the settlement through volunteer or paid work. Beyond leading changes in community reality, this population will serve as a role model for the future generation of leadership in the settlement. Particular emphasis will be placed in the program on developing leadership among youth and youngsters in light of the belief that this population will be susceptible to undergo significant change in awareness thereby make the non-mainstream decision to reside in a periphery settlement with the objective of taking social responsibility. ? This involves the creation of a high quality youth leadership development model based on a long-term program that accompanies the youngsters at 6 stages throughout their adolescent years and the following life-shaping decade by means of a large array of operations that are adaptive to participant's age stage. Throughout the program, participants will initiate social projects with the understanding that activity in itself develops leadership, with the aim of connecting program participants to what is happening at their communities, and with the objective of assimilating the value of volunteering and social involvement as a cardinal aspect of their social lives. The program will accompany the participants through their life course starting from youth, with substantial emphasis on the intent to postpone their military service by a year for the benefit of participating in pre-military preparatory schools or service year. The work assumption is that while being in these above-mentioned frameworks (pre-military preparatory schools and service year), participants will undergo significant change increasing motivation for leading and generating social impact, social involvement and activism.
