Medical Externship

A one month rotating externship at WGH for students in hospital related fields who originate from, or study in, a Consortium Partnership community.  Criteria are set by WGH with candidates vetted by Federation and relevant schools of higher education; minimum 3 participants. The program's goals are for students to learn about the standards, quality and practice of hospital medicine in Israel, to have a chance to see genetic conditions and diseases that they may only be able to read about in their medical studies, and to become ambassadors of WGH and of this program in their respective communities. Each student receives  A program tailored to his/her level of education and interests  Lunch in the staff dining room  A shared hospital apartment for the duration of their stay  Beginning July 2010, the hospital will charge each student 300 for the month. In 2010, out of exploratory correspondence with ten potential externship students, two Dayton students came for one month and one San Antonio Otzma student volunteered for some15 hours.
