Miami is a major international destination for art with high-profile shows such as Art Basel and major museums such as the Perez Museum of Art, Institute of Contemporary Art and the Bass Museum just opening in the last few years. Our vision is to capitalize on the thriving art scene in Miami through a people-to-people Artist in Residence program connecting artists from the city of Yerucham with the art-loving community in Miami. We would identify two Artists from Yerucham to spend ten days with our community to participate in a cultural exchange of art and ideas. Through a variety of events and programs, participants will have the opportunity to work alongside the Artists and learn with them, from them and about them. The Artists will also have the opportunity to meet local Miami artists and explore the Miami art scene. The project will culminate in a large scale installation at the JCC. We would create a variety of events and programs for different age groups kids, teens and adults including: - Hands-on workshops - Lecture/Speaking Presentations - Art Exhibit Show in the MBJCC Gallery - Permanent Art Installation (done in collaboration with the Artists and the JCC Community) - Visits with Local Miami Artists, Curators, Gallery Owners, Museums, etc.
