The population of the LGBTQ community in the northern periphery of Israel is growing and has unique characteristics. There is not enough awareness of LGBTQ variance and there is a lack of services adapted to the community. For this reason, Home in the Valley was established. It deals with promoting social awareness, developing solutions adapted to the community and creating a safe place where individuals can meet and take part in joint thinking and action. In order to engage the community in a joint process, we realized that it is necessary to invest resources in creating a leading group that will advance the goals of Home in the Valley. With the incoming resources, we will map and identify the needs of the LGBTQ community in the region, develop a leadership group, promote activities and enlist partners to create accommodating solutions.
