David F. Sherman Member of the Board of Governors

David Sherman used his engineering and business background to help build a number of successful companies. Originally, he built the back-office systems and data information center for The Related Companies in New York City. Later, he used his talents to help expand a multigenerational family shoe business to $20M, and then started his own low-voltage electronics company that became one of the top 50 in the nation.

David is currently involved in a variety of industries. As partner and C-suite executive of a Cannabis compliance laboratory he helps manage the IT and sales expansion of the Michigan business. In addition, he is VP of Sales for Dresner Design, LLC which sells Italian cabinetry to single family and multi-family projects throughout the United States. He is a passionate health advocate specializing in natural alternatives, and has been studying nutrition, exercise and hydration for ten years. He has taken his technical education and applied science to the wellness industry as a professional network marketer of game changing products and as visionary/owner for Natural ReCharge, a functional wellness company in metropolitan Detroit.

David is currently a Trustee of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, acting Treasurer and Chair of the Jewish committee. He previously served alongside his wife Ellen and cousin Caroline Cummings Rafferty as co-chairs of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation NextGen committee. He and Caroline were chosen by their cousins as the first members of the NextGen to serve on the Foundation Board. He is on the executive committee of Yad Ezra board and a member of the security committee at the Detroit Jewish Federation.
